I had my bachelorette party two nights ago, and we had a fantastic time. We went to Teatro ZinZanni, and the show was amazing. If you get a chance to you should totally go!!

Happy birthday to my soon-to-be husband, who turns 25 today! I love you, Kyle.
Invitations are in the mail, and I've heard that a lot of them have already made it to their far flung destinations. I was sort of sad to see them go out after all the work we put into making them. (Props to my mom who was my parner in the printing and cutting and pasting, and to Kyle who helped put them all together.) We're looking forward to getting your responses back and checking out your song requests.
I've had some questions already about what you should wear. Of course it's most important to us that you are comfortable. You'll fit right in if you're in cocktail attire. However, if you've been itching for an excuse to wear you old prom dress/boa and opera gloves/tails/dress kilt, by all means, GO FOR IT!
I had decided a long time ago that I wanted a mobius ring for my wedding band. So I googled it and sifted through pages and pages of results. My favorite find happened to be designed by a jeweler--Ostling & Brooks--in nearby Leavenworth, a short drive away from Seattle. Yesterday Kyle and I took a day trip up Highway 2 over Stevens Pass to visit them.
The jewelry was way more beautiful in person than in pictures online, and they are now working on finding some stones for my ring. I can't wait until they're made and I have pictures!

I've heard through the grapevine that our Save-The-Dates have started arriving. (The beautiful picture is courtesy of my friend and bridesmaid Ashley - read more about her on the wedding party page.) Welcome to our site, future wedding guests! As of now there isn't too much detailed information here about the wedding itself, but we'll be adding that as we nail down the particulars. In the mean time, we are building the most awesome guestbook ever, so "Leave Your Mark" and add a pin to our map. See you soon!
This morning Kyle and I booked our honeymoon!
We are going to San Diego for a week, and we're staying at the Coronado Bay Resort. It's going to be lovely. We'll hopefully be able to make a trip to the San Diego Zoo and catch a Padres game - they are playing the Arizona Diamondbacks when we'll be in town. Other than that, a lot of relaxing and enjoying being married. I'm really excited!
Astrid's been on me to actually do something with this page, so I've added the wedding party to the respective page! I feel so accomplished.
Over the last week, we have done cake tasting, checking out the Virginia V, talking to the caterer of the reception in Seattle, and finalized plans for the Cleveland reception (Sweetwater Landing on August 9th, I believe). It's been a busy week, but next week will involve ring shopping, honeymoon booking (San Diego), and other things that I'm sure Astrid will yell at me about... (and all during Roosevelt High School baseball tryouts)
The wedding details are all coming along nicely.
We've finallized that date for our second reception for all you Cleveland folks; it'll be on August 9th. As much as we'd love to have you all here for the wedding, we know that we're being pretty short notice about this, and the travel can be expensive, so don't worry if you won't be able to make it out.
Now that we have both dates, we're going to be making and sending out Save-the-Date cards with pictures that one of my best friends (and bridemaid!) Ashley took, so be on the lookout for those.
In other planning related news, Kyle and I are cake tasting tomorrow, and I'm really excited for that.
So, we haven't even been engaged for a week and we're really making progress in the planning. We've found our venue: the Virginia V. That means we've also got our date set: July 24, 2008. It sounds way sooner than way than just "this summer."
Also today Ashley and my mom helped me go shopping and we found my dress on the very first try! Trying to describe it could not possibly do it justice, so you're just going to have to wait and see. It is beautiful and fantastic and so very me!
